Spitfiregirl – Xero vs Quickbooks for small business accounting

Heidi Yarger is a great example of life imitating art – literally. First, her grandmother called her a “Spitfire” and the name stuck. And today, she is the Creative Director/Owner of Spitfiregirl, a brand design studio. To say that she’s a right-brain would be putting it mildly.

“I’m not that great with math, I specifically avoided math in school,” says Heidi – so it’s no wonder she experienced the accounting fears for her studio.

Luckily, Xero helped eliminate this fear. “It’s right in your face. It’s so easy to use. I talk to people all the time about how amazing it is,” she says of her new accounting software.

For Heidi, Xero is what you might call a breath of fresh air – particularly for those small businesses considering Xero vs QuickBooks.

“QuickBooks was very laborious,” explains Heidi. “There were so many extra steps that needed to be taken to get from Point A to Point B – and nothing talked to each other. And that was really frustrating.”

Heidi is no longer frustrated. Thanks to Xero, she is able to save time and manage her accounting functions on the go. Now she can fully enjoy the wonders of being a mother and small business owner:

“Those little nuggets of time are really valuable – and every nugget of time is valuable when you’re a mom. So Xero’s been really helpful in getting things done quickly.”
